Job summary

South Texas Spine & Surgical Hospital seeks a Surgical Services Manager to oversee operating room and sterile processing operations, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient patient care.

Under the supervision of the Director of Surgical Services, you’ll manage staffing, schedule, supply use, implants records, risk management, infection control, and performance improvement. The role demands strong leadership, communication, and calm decision-making in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program with valid Texas RN licensure.
• BLS & ACLS required; PALS within 60 days of hire.
• BSN required or pursued within 2 years of hire.
• Master’s degree and CNOR certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years OR nursing experience.
• Knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations.
• English proficiency; additional languages preferred.
• Computer literacy in MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Leads nursing and ancillary personnel in planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating patient care.
• Establishes effective communication with Administration, CNO, Medical Staff, and patients.
• Ensures compliance with state, federal, and accrediting standards and drives performance improvement initiatives.
• Oversees OR and sterile processing budgets, staffing, and supply management.
• Participates in hiring, orientation, and staff development to maintain service excellence.
