Qualifications

• Minimum of three years in business, financial services, or a physician practice setting.
• Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-9/10 coding.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree may substitute for two years of experience (substitution in education)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and maintain surgical schedules and OR time.
• Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility; obtain prior authorizations.
• Prepare and communicate cost estimates; identify and collect prepayments; establish payment plans.
• Provide in-depth financial counseling professionally and compassionately.
• Assist uninsured patients with sponsorship options.
• Maintain accurate patient demographics and financial information.
• Coordinate logistics for the patient’s surgical experience and act as liaison between physicians, patients, and insurers.
• Support scheduling through procedure completion and float to other practices as needed.
