Job summary

Arkansas Children's in Little Rock seeks an experienced administrator to lead the Surgical Service section. You will oversee staff, budgets, and administrative functions, coordinating with hospital leaders and departments across specialties.

The role requires 5 years of admin/clerical experience and prior leadership, with ASPIRE as a pathway for internal candidates. Monday–Friday schedule with strong cross-department collaboration.

Qualifications

• Required: HS/GED; ASPIRE program acceptable for internal candidates.
• Minimum 5 years administrative/clerical experience.
• Prior leadership experience preferred (or ASPIRE completion).
• Oversees administrative functions and budgets; hires, trains, coordinates staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical service chiefs with budget issues and planning.
• Maintain working knowledge of service accounts and expenses.
• Process regular and purchase requests; follow up on invoices.
• Provide administrative support and coordination for the service.
• Hire, train, and supervise administrative staff within the section.
• Serve as liaison with UAMS/AC departments and physician offices.
• Coordinate residency rotations and fellowship training programs.
