Job summary

Davenport Ambulatory Surgery Center is seeking an experienced Surgical Scrub Technologist to join our team. The role focuses on maintaining a sterile field and supporting the surgical team in the operating room.

The Surgical Scrub Technologist will gown gloves, assist with instrument and sponge counts, and ensure patient safety and instrument sterility in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED; completion of a Scrub Technician Program. Certification preferable.
• Two years experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Knowledge of medical terminology as it pertains to anatomy and surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensures sterility of all supplies and instruments during set up of surgical procedures.
• Assists circulating nurse and surgical team in maintaining sterile environment.
• Gowns and gloves surgeons and assistants.
• Retains specimens and confirms source/name with surgeon.
• Transports surgical equipment to cleaning areas and aids in instrument reprocessing.
• Communicates with patients, physicians, and staff while maintaining privacy and safety.
