Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC seeks a Surgical Technologist (ST) to serve as the scrub technologist in the surgical suite. The ST provides patient care within scope of practice, adheres to aseptic techniques, and assists with instrument and supply readiness for operative cases.

Responsibilities include assisting with the patient plan of care, maintaining confidentiality, and participating in education and performance improvement activities.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Completion of Surgical Technologist Course from an Accredited CAHEA Program preferred.
• 1 year experience as a surgical technologist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow aseptic techniques when Scrub duties and support duties for the department.
• Perform scrub duties in service areas as assigned.
• Assist with patient care tasks within the scope of practice and unit guidelines.
• Access medication and supply room for patient care items.
• Transport and escort patients to various areas.
• Maintain, prepare instruments and supplies for operative cases.
• Respect patient confidentiality and dignity at all times.
• Contribute to education and performance improvement activities.
