Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC seeks a Surgical Technologist (ST) to serve as the scrub technologist in the surgical suite. The ST provides patient care within scope of practice, adheres to aseptic techniques, and assists with instrument and supply readiness for operative cases.

Responsibilities include assisting with the patient plan of care, maintaining confidentiality, and participating in education and performance improvement activities.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Completion of Surgical Technologist Course from an Accredited CAHEA Program preferred.
• 1 year experience as a surgical technologist preferred.

The Surgical Technologist (ST) is responsible for the provision of patient care to meet identified patient outcomes, and to achieve the goals of the facility as direct by the Registered Nurse. The ST performs duties according to scope of practice designated by the facility position description, role and responsibilities and according to the surgical technician professional organization. The surgical technologist may be assigned other functions as deemed necessary.Major Job FunctionsThe following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job.
