Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health System in Fayetteville, NC is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (scrub technologist) for the Short Stay Surgery team. You will assist in the operating room under the RN, maintain sterile technique, gowning and draping, and manage instruments and specimens.

Requirements include a High School diploma, CST certification, and proficiency in English. One year of surgical technologist experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist certification required.
• 1 year experience as a surgical technologist preferred.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques and patient safety.
• Physically able to stand, lift and assist in the OR.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a scrub technologist under RN direction.
• Maintain sterile technique and assist with gowning and gloving.
• Prepare OR for procedures and assist with draping.
• Handle instruments, supplies and specimens per policy.
• Participate in time-out and maintain patient confidentiality.
