Responsibilities

• Assist physician with operative procedures, anticipating surgeon needs.
• Maintain sterility of supplies and instruments during procedures.
• Gown and glove surgeons and assistants; count sponges, needles, and instruments.
• Assist circulating nurse and surgical team in maintaining a sterile environment.
• Follow universal precautions and protect patient privacy at all times.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

State of Colorado Surgical Registry

BLS required

Surgical Technologist State License

Surgical Technologist National Certification
