Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Local candidates preferred.
• Accredited through CAAHEP or ABHES.
• Completion of surgical scrub technician course.
• Operating room experience preferred.
• Strong ethical and moral character references.

Responsibilities

• Assemble supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures according to physicians’ preference cards.
• Inspect equipment for proper working condition.
• Follow aseptic technique and operating room procedures.
• Open sterile packages and prepare for procedures aseptically.
• Arrange instruments and confirm they work properly.
• Maintain availability of instruments and supplies to avoid delays.
• Document patient-care records and other forms per policy.
• Report breaks in sterile technique and take corrective action when needed.
