Job summary

Ochsner LSU Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to assist in procedures, maintain sterilization of instruments, and ensure equipment readiness for surgeries. You will scrub for procedures and support the RN and surgical team in daily department operations.

The role requires a surgical technology certification, BLS, and strong organizational skills; prior experience is preferred but not required. Expect a fast-paced clinical setting with strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and graduate from an accepted surgical technology program.
• Certification in Surgical Technology.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to self-direct.
• Ability to demonstrate good judgement.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care duties, including assisting physicians during procedures.
• Assists in the day-to-day operations of the department.
• Maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, equipment, training, and credentials.
• Adapts to change in a positive constructive manner.
• Ensures cleanliness and disinfection of endoscopes while maintaining quality control measures.
• Performs other related duties as required.
