Job summary

UCHealth University of Colorado Health seeks a part-time Surgery Scheduler at UCHealth Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, CO. This onsite role schedules inpatient and outpatient procedures, coordinates with physicians, and confirms pre-procedure instructions for patients.

Responsibilities include accurate appointment timing, insurance verification, and collaboration with the surgical team to ensure facility and staff readiness.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Schedules inpatient and outpatient surgical appointment times using computerized scheduling programs.
• Coordinates with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure availability of facilities, surgeon, staff and equipment.
• Communicates with patients and/or their families to provide necessary pre-procedure instructions and to confirm appointments.
• Performs insurance verification and/or pre-authorizations as necessary.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
