Job summary

SCA Health in Oak Brook, IL is seeking a patient-focused facility support specialist to perform medical office functions, credentialing, and admissions-related tasks. Primary duties include surgeon scheduling, patient check-in, and accurate registration prior to procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma at minimum, with preferred associate degree and relevant health-care scheduling experience. Shift is 8:30am–5:00pm, Monday through Friday, with benefits provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum three years of experience in health care and minimum of one-year experience in surgery scheduling procedures preferred.
• The successful candidate must have the ability to work independently as well as with a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the facility by performing specific or various business office functions as assigned (Medical Records, Credentialing, Admissions/Intake, Accounts Payable, Billing, Collections, Insurance Verification, Transactions, Posting, Clinical Logs).
• Shift will be from 8:30am–5:00pm, with primary responsibility of patient check-in.
• Handle scheduling: schedules surgeries, contact physician offices, and manage scheduling information in the surgery center.
• Answer phones, assist physician offices and patients promptly, take messages and route to appropriate departments.
