Job summary

Catawba Valley Medical Center is seeking a patient financial counselor to handle billing support, insurance reporting, and patient education on financial obligations. You will serve as a liaison between patients and the hospital, ensuring clear communication and assistance with financial arrangements.

Responsibilities include managing scheduling and pre-registration for in-office and hospital procedures, with emphasis on accuracy and patient service in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Healthcare Management or related field required; HS diploma with 3 years billing/scheduling experience may be considered.
• Comprehension of insurance plans and related regulations; basic mathematics proficiency and healthcare reimbursement knowledge.
• Experience with patient scheduling, pre-registration, and office/hospital billing in a medical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient financial counseling, collections and insurance reporting for patient accounts.
• Act as liaison between patients and hospital to educate and counsel on financial obligations.
• Manage all patient scheduling and pre-registration for in-office and hospital procedures/surgeries.
