Job summary

Jackson Health System is seeking a PG Surgical Coordinator to support surgeons by handling scheduling, authorizations, and related paperwork for surgeries in North Miami, FL. The role includes processing medical clearances and guiding patients through pre- and post-operative steps.

Responsibilities include coordinating weekly surgery schedules for physicians, obtaining medical clearances, and ensuring all hospital paperwork is complete.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of related experience.
• High school diploma required.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral.
• Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work.
• Ability to work under stress with professional composure.

Responsibilities

• At the beginning of each week provide the physician with his surgery schedule.
• Conduct pre-surgery interview with patient during office visit.
• Provide patient with pre- and post-operative instructions.
• Schedule appointment with patient's PCP to obtain medical clearance for surgery.
• Fax medical clearance sheets to and sends all paperwork needed by the hospital for scheduled surgeries including admittance and registration paperwork to the admitting department.
• Obtains authorizations for all surgical procedures.

• Performs all other related job duties as assigned.
