Job summary

Jefferson Health in Sewell and Turnersville, NJ seeks a Surgical Scheduler to coordinate inpatient and outpatient procedures, delivering a courteous patient experience and supporting the Jefferson Experience.

Responsibilities include collecting and reviewing insurance information, obtaining authorizations, confirming times, providing pre-operative instructions, and maintaining HIPAA compliance while handling a time-sensitive workload. Some remote days may follow a 90-day probation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to provide and support a positive Jefferson Experience for all patients and/or visitors; ability to process and interpret data; ability to multitask in a time-sensitive workload.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Collect and review patient insurance information including prior authorizations and referrals; ensure approvals are in place before scheduled procedures.
• Completes pre-procedure phone calls and confirms appointment times with patients by phone.
• Provides patient with all necessary pre-operative instructions.
• Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements; ensures compliance with applicable regulations.
• Other duties as requested or assigned.
