Job summary

Jefferson Health in Philadelphia is seeking a Surgical Scheduler to professionally schedule inpatient and outpatient procedures and/or surgeries, supporting the Jefferson Experience through prompt, courteous treatment of all patients. This onsite role operates Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–5:00 pm, within the Albert Einstein Medical Center system.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to uphold a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• Willingness to provide a positive Jefferson Experience for all patients/visitors.
• Ability to process and interpret data and multitask in a time-sensitive workload.

Responsibilities

• Interact with coworkers, visitors, and staff in line with Jefferson values.
• Collect and review patient insurance information, including prior authorizations and referrals.
• Complete pre-procedure calls and confirm appointment times with patients by phone.
• Provide patients with pre-operative instructions.
• Ensure HIPAA privacy and security compliance and regulatory standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
