Job summary

Axia Women’s Health is seeking a Surgical Scheduler to coordinate and schedule office-based procedures, surgeries, and hospital or ambulatory surgery center cases. You will ensure pre-operative requirements are completed and act as a liaison among patients, providers, hospitals, and insurers.

Responsibilities include coordinating pre-operative testing, ensuring authorizations, documenting in the EMR, and communicating schedules and instructions to patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year of healthcare scheduling experience required.
• Experience working within an EMR system required.
• Experience interacting with patients, providers, and insurance carriers in a healthcare setting required.
• OB/GYN or REI experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule office-based procedures, surgeries, and hospital or surgery center cases.
• Coordinate pre-operative testing, imaging, and medical clearances.
• Verify patient demographics and insurance information; obtain prior authorizations.
• Provide patients with detailed instructions for preparation, arrival times, and follow-up.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR; obtain informed consent as applicable.
• Schedule post-operative and follow-up appointments; communicate changes to stakeholders.
