Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians (OSUP) is seeking a scheduler to lead the active scheduling of surgeries and procedures across providers and service lines. You will coordinate with hospitals, ambulatory centers, and clinical teams to ensure accurate, timely schedules and documentation.

The role requires 2+ years in healthcare, strong interpersonal skills, and proficiency in MS Office tools. Health system experience, attention to detail, and collaborative communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in a health care environment.
• High School Diploma.
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
• Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
• Continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofreading materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate all surgeries and procedures for assigned providers and service lines to maintain an active, accurate schedule.
• Coordinate procedures with multiple hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers, schedule pre-operative testing and communicate orders.
• Work closely with patients, physicians, staff and ORs to provide timely scheduling.
• Provide administrative support and solve routine and complex customer problems.
• Interact with patients, families, referring physicians and third party carriers regarding patient-related issues.
• Exercise independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize workload.
• Communicate regularly with clinical staff and department teams to maximize time and utilization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure, o rganize, and maintain an active, accurate, and operational surgery schedule by coordinating all surgeries and procedures for assigned providers and service lines.
• Coordinate surgical procedures with multiple hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers, schedule and coordinate pre-operative testing, communicate surgery orders, and collect necessary documentation for surgeries.
• Work closely with patients, physicians, staff and operating rooms to provide accurate, timely, and responsive scheduling.
• Provide administrative s upport. Solve routine and complex customer problems directs customers to address specific questions.
• Interact with patients, patients' families, referring physicians and third party carriers with regard to patient-related issues.
• Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload.
• Communicate regulary with clinical staff, medical secretaries and staff within the product/service line to ensure customer and department staff needs are met including, but not limited to, maximizing the departments time and utilization.

Qualifications

• Tw o Or More Years Of Experience In A Health Care Environment.
• High School Diploma.
• High Level Of Interpersonal Skills To Handle Sensitive And Confidential Situations. Position Continually Requires Demonstrated Poise, Tact And Diplomacy.
• Knowledge Of A Variety Of Computer Software Applications In Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Database And Presentation Software (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
• Continual Attention To Detail In Composing, Typing And Proofing Materials, Establishing Priorities And Meeting Deadlines.

Pay Range

USD $19.17 - USD $28.75 /Hr.
