Job summary

The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. is seeking a Surgical Scheduler to manage and coordinate surgical schedules across providers and facilities in Columbus, OH. You will work closely with patients, physicians, staff, and OR teams to ensure timely, accurate scheduling and documentation.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in healthcare scheduling, high school diploma, and proficiency with MS Word/Excel. Epic experience is a plus and the role offers competitive benefits and a collaborative

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• 2+ years of experience in a healthcare environment or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure, organize, and maintain an active, accurate, and operational surgery schedule by coordinating all surgeries and procedures for assigned providers and service lines.
• Coordinate surgical procedures with multiple hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers; schedule pre-operative testing, communicate surgery orders, and collect necessary documentation.
• Work closely with patients, physicians, staff and operating rooms to provide accurate, timely scheduling.
• Provide administrative support; resolve routine and complex customer problems and direct customers to address questions.
• Interact with patients, families, referring physicians and third-party carriers on patient-related issues.
• Exercise independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload.
• Communicate regularly with clinical staff to ensure needs are met and department utilization is optimized.
