Job summary

IR Centers at Arizona Urology Specialists in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Medical Receptionist / Surgical Scheduler to greet patients, check them in for appointments, and manage referrals. You will schedule consultations and procedures, collect demographics and insurance data, and coordinate with physicians using the EMR system.

Qualifications

• Two years of medical scheduling experience required.

Responsibilities

• Greet callers warmly & provide courteous service.
• Serve as the first point of contact for patients at our practice.
• Use sound judgment in handling calls, especially with sensitive medical information.
• Answers calls within three-four rings.
• When scheduling patients, update demographics and insurance information accurately.
• Confirm, cancel, reschedule and update patient appointments as requested.
• Use the EMR system to match physician availability with patient needs.
• Schedule appointments based on clinic guidelines.
• Maintain scheduling systems for accurate patient records for analysis.
• Communicate with physicians/clinicians about scheduling concerns; consult with the office manager on system problems.
• Complete requests from other medical offices (faxing records, etc.).
• Address patient concerns efficiently and effectively.
• Apply customer service principles to keep patients calm and satisfied.
• Perform other clerical duties as assigned by the office manager.
