Job summary

The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. is seeking a Surgical Scheduler to organize and manage an active surgery schedule across providers and service lines at multiple facilities. This role requires coordinating with hospitals, ambulatory centers, patients, and staff.

Strong communication, attention to detail, and experience in a healthcare environment are essential. Epic experience preferred, and proficiency with MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• 2+ years experience in a healthcare environment.
• Epic experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage priorities.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate active surgery schedule for assigned providers and service lines.
• Coordinate surgical procedures with hospitals and ambulatory centers; arrange pre-operative testing and collect documentation.
• Communicate surgery orders and provide timely updates to patients, staff and providers.
• Provide administrative support and resolve routine to complex customer problems.
• Interact with patients, families, referring physicians, and third-party carriers about patient-related issues.
• Plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload.
• Communicate with clinical staff to maximize department time and utilization.
