Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise is hiring an Operating Room (OR) Assistant. You will support the surgical team by preparing case carts, transporting supplies, and cleaning and turnover of operating rooms.

The role involves working with Ortho, Neuro, and General surgery areas and training through an orientation program. This position emphasizes safety, efficiency, and patient care in a Level II Trauma Center setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in housekeeping, central supply or surgery transportation preferred.
• Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and supplies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare case carts with all necessary surgery supplies, sutures, and equipment per surgeon preference.
• Clean and turnover operating rooms and equipment between cases.
• Transport dirty case carts to decontamination and log specimens.
• Move supplies, x-rays, blood products, and beds as needed.
• Provide articles for transport including oxygen tanks, monitors, patient charts, and supplies.
