Job summary

Portsmouth Regional Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Same Day Care to join our surgical team in Portsmouth, NH. This full-time role offers 32 hours per week with shifts 10:00a-6:30p or 11:30a-8p and a Friday work requirement.

You will evaluate patients pre- and post-operatively, educate families, and contribute to safe, evidence-based perioperative care. Compassionate collaboration with surgeons, nurses, and staff is essential as you apply nursing process, participate in site

Qualifications

BLS certification required within 30 days of start date.
ACLS and PALS certifications required within 90 days of start date.
NH RN license required.
Associate Degree of Nursing required.

Responsibilities

Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including IV therapy, preoperative meds, and site verification.
Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practices and continuous improvement.
Be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team.
Apply the nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to deliver safe nursing care.
Assess patient condition, monitor during shift, and document changes.
Educate patients and families about condition, treatment, and follow-up.
