Job summary

Portsmouth Regional Hospital, part of the HCA Healthcare family, is seeking a Registered Nurse RN for Same Day Care. The role includes evaluating patients preoperatively, educating families, ensuring surgical site verification, and participating in interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality perioperative care.

Eligibility requires NH RN licensure, ADN, and certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS). On-call may be required during non-business hours; there is a Friday work requirement in the

Qualifications

• RN licensure in New Hampshire
• BLS certification within 30 days of start date
• ACLS and PALS within 90 days of start date

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including IV therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification
• Participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, debriefing, and universal protocols
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while applying evidence-based practices
• Be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team
• Apply the nursing process, critical thinking and leadership to deliver safe care
• Assess patient condition, monitor during shift, and document changes
• Educate patients and families about medical condition, treatment and follow-up
