Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse (Surgical Intermediate) for a part-time night shift (7pm–7:30am) with rotating weekends on a 26-bed unit serving adult surgical, medical and cardiac patients. Direct care is provided with a 1:3-4 patient ratio for step-down care, with collaboration across the health team.

Qualified candidates hold an Illinois RN license with BLS; ADN accepted with a BSN plan. Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be an Illinois-licensed registered nurse.
• BLS certification required.
• Part-time night shift experience or availability is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, identifies expected outcomes, develops and implements an individualized plan, coordinates care delivery and evaluates progress.
• Directs care and determines appropriate utilization of any assistant involved in providing direct patient care.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and ancillary staff; creates a documented plan focused on outcomes and communications.
• Participates in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects.
• Evaluates and documents patients' responses to nursing interventions and adapts the plan of care accordingly.
