Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical Surgical Intermediate unit (3C) in Winfield, IL. This full-time night role features a 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM schedule with rotating weekends on a 26-bed high-acuity unit.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN and an Illinois RN license, with BLS and strong communication and teamwork skills. ADN candidates committed to BSN within three years are welcome. Northwestern Medicine emphasizes growth, equity, and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse licensure required.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
Strong analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

Collects and analyzes data, identifies expected outcomes, develops and implements an individualized plan, coordinates care delivery and evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes.
Directs care and determines the appropriate utilization of any assistant involved in providing direct patient care.
Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and ancillary staff; creates a documented plan focused on outcomes and communications.
Participates in shared governance, committees and unit projects.
Evaluates and documents patient responses to nursing interventions and updates the care plan accordingly.
Uses best available evidence, including research findings, to guide practice decisions.
