Job summary

SSM Health's St. Marys Jefferson City - Surgery unit seeks an experienced RNFA to provide direct surgical assistance before, during, and after procedures. The role requires handling patient positioning, suctioning, hemostasis, and wound care, under physician direction.

The candidate should have RN licensure, completion of an RNFA program or equivalent, and CNOR certification is a plus. This full-time day shift position resides in the Operating Room, with responsibilities across multiple states

Qualifications

• RNFA program completion or RNFA equivalency required.
• Active RN license in Missouri or a compact state.
• CNOR certification preferred.
• Two years RN experience in advanced surgical specialty.

Responsibilities

• Position patient to optimize exposure for procedures with stabilizing equipment.
• Support visualization of operative site per physician orders with tissue manipulation and suctioning.
• Assist with achieving temporary and permanent hemostasis.
• Assist with wound closure, dressings, and drainage systems.
• Apply evidence-based practice to nursing care per department scope of service.
• Maintain alertness and safety; perform other duties as assigned.
