Job summary

Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) is seeking a Registered Nurse, First Assist (RNFA) to join our Surgery team at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, IL. The RNFA supports the surgeon during operations, performs peri-operative assessment, and conducts post-operative evaluation to ensure patient safety.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and an RN license. CNOR certification is required for hires after April 24, 2024, or completion of an RNFA program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required.
• RN license in state of practice is required.
• CNOR certification required for hires after 24 Apr 2024 or RNFA program completion.
• RNFA program completion required for hires after 24 Apr 2024.
• If CNOR/RNFA not held, CSTFA with 2 years OR First Assist experience allows CNOR entry after eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon during operative procedures as RNFA.
• Perform peri-operative assessment and post-operative evaluation.
• Coordinate intra-operative activities with the surgical team.
