Job summary

HSHS Medical Group is seeking a Registered Nurse, First Assist (RNFA) to support the Surgery team at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese, IL. The RNFA will assist the surgeon during operations and manage peri-operative nursing tasks including assessment and post-operative care.

Eligible candidates must hold a nursing license in the practice state, have a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, and either CNOR certification or CSTFA with OR experience and a plan to obtain CNOR within 6 months. ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required.
• RN license in state of practice is required.
• CNOR certification is required for hires after 24 Apr 2024 or RN with CSTFA and OR experience under 2 years until CNOR eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon intra-operatively as RNFA.
• Perform peri-operative assessment and postoperative evaluation.
• Collaborate with surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
