Carle Health is seeking an experienced RN for NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit, a 43-bed unit specializing in acute and chronic digestive surgical care. The role involves perioperative and postoperative nursing, wound management, ostomy care, and collaboration with surgical residents and OMFS staff.

The position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus for external applicants, relocation support, and a BSN bonus, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4–6 and 1:3 for advanced care patients.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)

Responsibilities

• Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service.
• Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care.
• Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops an appropriate plan of care.
• Implements plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
• Monitors and cares for newly tracheostomies and complex wounds including wound vacs and ostomies.
• Collaborates with surgical residency and OMFS services to ensure safe, high-quality care.
