Job summary

CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck, ND, is seeking an Registered Nurse for the Surgical Unit (Acute Care). You will care for adults with post-operative and acute medical needs, coordinate with a multidisciplinary team, and educate patients on recovery and discharge.

The role features rotating 12-hour shifts and a $25,000 sign-on bonus with relocation eligibility. Requirements include an approved nursing degree and an active RN license (ND or compact state) with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an approved school of nursing.
• New grads welcome.
• Active RN license in ND or a compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within orientation period.
• Strong communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult surgical and acute medical patients.
• Implement and manage post-operative care plans, wound care, pain control, mobility, and prevention of complications.
• Monitor vitals, interpret labs, and adjust care as patient condition changes.
• Collaborate with surgeons, hospitalists, therapists, case managers and other staff for coordinated care and timely discharge.
• Educate patients and families on recovery, medications, self-care, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate documentation ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Offer sign-on bonus and relocation for eligible new hires.
