The role includes postoperative care, wound/ostomy management, and tracheostomy care. A sign-on bonus is offered for external applicants, with relocation incentives and a BSN bonus.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days

Responsibilities

• Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service.
• Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
• Maintains up-to-date documentation of nursing care for the healthcare team.
• Completes initial assessment on admission and develops an appropriate care plan.
• Implements and modifies plan of care with continuous evaluation.
• Ensures patient and employee safety and reports hazards.
• Provides postoperative care for complex surgical patients.
• Cares for patients with tracheostomies and wound management (wounds, vacs, ostomies).
• Collaborates with general surgical residency and OMFS services.
