Qualifications

• Graduate from an ARC-PA certified PA program.
• Passed the PANCE exam.
• Must maintain MD license in Maryland.
• Must qualify for prescriptive authority (CDS/DEA).
• Ability to work in both the OR and inpatient units.
• Must have BLS certification.
• Must possess excellent communication skills and work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Functions as operative first assistant for multiple service lines including DaVinci robotics, general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, vascular and urology.
• Completes post-operative assessments and management of postoperative surgical patients.
• Orders ancillary tests and treatments; develops diagnosis and treatment plan with supervising physician.
• Collaborates with hospital departments to ensure coordinated patient care and compliant documentation.
• Assists credentialed bedside procedures (CVC, tube thoracostomy, arterial line, PICC) and supports quality initiatives and compliant billing.
