Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a Surgical Pathology Technologist to join the Histology-Main Campus Hospital team in Cleveland, OH. The role involves processing, describing and dissecting tissue specimens, preparing frozen sections for rapid diagnosis, and performing data entry of patient and specimen information.

You will handle general lab functions, maintain equipment and records, and ensure compliance with CLIA regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution OR Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university AND have education and training equivalent to high complexity testing personnel per CLIA. Diploma and/or transcripts must be provided. Education will be verified.

Responsibilities

• Identify, measure, weigh and describe tissue specimens under the direction of the pathologist.
• Perform high complexity laboratory testing in a compliant manner.
• Follow procedures for specimen handling, test analyses and recording patient results.
• Maintain instrument and equipment, supplies and records.
• Prepare frozen sections for rapid diagnosis and process specimens.
