Job summary

Cleveland Clinic is hiring for Histology Technician/Histotechnologist at the Main Campus in Cleveland. The role supports the Histology-Diagnostics Institute with tissue processing, embedding and staining, contributing directly to accurate diagnoses.

Ideal candidates will have HT/HTL qualifications or eligibility, a relevant Bachelor's degree, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a focus on safety and quality. Sign-on bonus of 5,000 is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or CLIA qualifications for HTL
• ASCP HT/HTL certification or eligibility
• Working knowledge of OSHA chemical hygiene and bloodborne pathogens

Responsibilities

• Prepare, process, embed and section tissue specimens using standard histology equipment
• Perform routine and specialized staining procedures, including histochemical and enzyme stains
• Mount, label, and distribute slides for pathologist review
• Maintain lab equipment, perform daily maintenance and coordinate repairs
• Prepare reagents, buffers and solutions to support testing procedures
• Accurately document patient and specimen data, maintain records and track lab statistics
• Ensure cleanliness and quality control of lab instruments and workspaces
• Support training and serve as a resource for students, trainees and residents
• Embed and prepare sections for immunohistochemical techniques as applicable

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry or related field or meet CLIA qualifications for Histotechnologist (HTL)

ASCP Certification eligible for Histotechnologist (HT or HTL)

OSHA knowledge of chemical hygiene and bloodborne pathogens
