Job summary

City of Hope in Duarte, CA seeks a skilled histology professional to support the operations of a high-complexity histology laboratory within Surgical Pathology.

Reporting to the lead histotechnologist, you will troubleshoot staining issues, assist in inspections, develop procedures, manage inventory using LEAN/Six Sigma, and work in an Electronic LIS to help deliver accurate results for patient care.

Qualifications

• Associates degree and relevant histology education.
• Completion of a certified clinical program in medical laboratory sciences in histopathology or equivalent.
• ASCP HT or HTL credential desirable.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot technical, processing, and staining issues.
• Assist in laboratory maintenance for inspections, including SOP writing and participation.
• Develop new laboratory procedures.
• Manage laboratory inventory and supplies using LEAN/six sigma principles
• Work within an Electronic LIS.
