Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center's Division of Clinical Pathology seeks a Laboratory Supervisor for Surgical Pathology. The role oversees daily operations, ensures quality, and maintains regulatory compliance across IHC and histology workflows.

Responsibilities include staff supervision, SOP development, and coordination with leadership to address workload and equipment issues, while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Advanced knowledge and technical expertise in histology and/or immunohistochemistry.
• NYS DOE Clinical Laboratory Technologist license is required.
• ASCP Histotechnologist certification and/or NYSDOH HT/HTL preferred.
• 4+ years' Surgical and/or Histology Laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations per department goals.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Review quality control data and develop SOPs for IHC processes.
• Maintain safety policies and procedures.
• Recruit, train, and evaluate staff; manage scheduling and performance.
