Job summary

District Medical Group in Phoenix, Arizona is seeking a Pathologists’ Assistant to support the surgical pathology and autopsy services under the Pathology Chair.

You will help with lab operations, education of learners, LIS responsibilities, and quality assurance, contributing to patient care.

A bachelor’s degree with Pathologists’ Assistant specialization is required; ASCP certification preferred; 1–2 years experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a health-science program with Pathologists’ Assistant specialization.
• Master’s degree is preferred.
• ASCP certification or equivalent preferred.
• 1–2 years of pathology experience preferred; exceptional graduates considered.

Responsibilities

• Process surgical pathology specimens with preanalytical tasks and tissue sampling.
• Perform macroscopic description, dissection and imaging.
• Support autopsy workflows and postmortem procedures.
• Participate in quality assurance, compliance and learner education.
• Assist LIS data gathering, reporting and conferences.
• Support IRB and tissue banking-related research activities.
