Job summary

Capital Health System, Inc. is seeking a Pathology Assistant to assist pathologists in tissue examination, dissection, and processing under board-certified supervision.

The role requires strong analytical skills, empathy, and proficient communication to support diagnostic workflows. Qualifications

• Bachelor in Science in biological sciences or related field.
• Two years pathology assistant experience required.
• Graduate from NAACLS-approved Pathology Assistant program preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.

Responsibilities

• Assures appropriate specimen accessioning and obtaining clinical history.
• Describes gross anatomic features and prepares tissues for histologic processing.
• Obtains biologic specimens for studies such as flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry.
• Participates in gross and microscopic specimen photography.
• Maintains surgical pathology protocols, reports, and data; assists in conferences.
• Prepares body for release.
