Job summary

Capital Health in Pennington, NJ is seeking an experienced RN First Assistant to join the Perioperative team in a full-time role. You will support the surgeon, assist with positioning, prep, draping, exposure, hemostasis, and wound closure, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes throughout the operative experience.

The ideal candidate has an RN license, completion of a First Assistant program, CNOR certification within six months, and at least three years of OR experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing required or graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Completion of First Assistant program; CNOR certification within six months of hire.
• Three years OR experience in scrub and circulating roles.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP as required by assigned specialty and location.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician with individualized surgical care before, during, and after surgery.
• Position, prep, drape, and assist with exposure and hemostasis as directed by surgeon.
• Close incisions, apply dressings, and ensure aseptic technique throughout the procedure.
• Maintain patient safety and advocate for the patient and family during perioperative care.
