Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a qualified Perioperative First Assistant RN to collaborate with the surgeon and care team during surgical procedures. You will assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping, provide tissue retraction, and support hemostasis under the surgeon’s direction to maximize patient outcomes.

The role requires OR experience, completion of a First Assistant program, and CNOR certification within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Completion of First Assistant program and CNOR within six months of hire.
• CNOR certification required and must be obtained within six months of hire.
• BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician in perioperative care before, during and after surgery.
• Position, prep and drape patient as directed by surgeon.
• Maintain hemostasis and assist with tissue retraction and instrument handling.
• Ensure asepsis and infection control throughout procedures and resuscitation as needed.
