Job summary

The Hospital of Central Connecticut is seeking a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join the General Surgery service in an inpatient setting at 100 Grand Street, New Britain. The role includes first assisting in the OR, admissions, discharges, rounding, bedside procedures, and surgical consults.

Applicants must hold CT licensure (or be eligible) and have 1 year of surgical experience. The position offers a full-time, 3×13s rotating schedule with no call and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Licensure: Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)
• Training: Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
• Experience: 1 years of experience, preferably in a surgical or related setting

Responsibilities

• Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients.
• Develop plans for further evaluation of health needs in consultation with physicians and care team.
• Provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider’s practice and refer outside when needed
