Job summary

BAS HealthCare is seeking a Nocturnist Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join a surgical team in Meriden, CT. The role focuses on first-assisting in the operating room, rounding, bedside procedures, admissions, discharges, and consults within an inpatient surgery setting.

You will collaborate with surgeons across General, Robotic, Bariatric, Thoracic, Orthopedic and Vascular services. The position is full-time with night shifts, no call, and a strong emphasis on autonomy

Qualifications

• Nocturnist PA or ACNP with CT license eligibility.
• 1+ year of surgical or related experience required; 2+ years preferred.
• RNFA or similar credential for NPs is required; AGACNP certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-assistance in the operating room and participate in rounds and bedside procedures.
• Manage admissions, discharges, and consults with a focus on inpatient surgery.
• Collaborate with surgeons across General, Robotic, Bariatric, Thoracic, Orthopedic and Vascular services.
• Work night shift with no on-call obligations and high clinical autonomy.

Job Details:

• Seeking a Nocturnist Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join a talented and enthusiastic surgery team
• Responsible for first-assisting in the operating room, rounding, bedside procedures, admissions, discharges, and consults
• Work in collaboration with a number of surgeons across multiple service lines including General Surgery, Robotic Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, and Thoracic Surgery, with some coverage of Orthopedics and Vascular
• Full-time, night shift schedule with flexible scheduling options available
• No call required
• High level of autonomy within a seasoned and experienced team
• Inpatient surgery setting utilizing EPIC clinical technology
• Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License required (or eligible)
• RNFA certification required for Nurse Practitioners; AGACNP certification required
• Minimum of 1+ year of experience in a surgery or related setting required; 2+ years preferred
• Market-leading compensation including up to $30,000 in shift differentials on top of base pay
