Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile drapes according to procedure requirements.
• Assist surgical teams during operations by passing instruments, sponges, and other sterile supplies as needed.
• Maintain aseptic technique and infection control standards throughout all phases of procedures.
• Inspect and ensure proper functioning of instruments and equipment, reporting any malfunctions.
• Manage inventory of surgical supplies and restock to prevent delays.
• Assist in cleaning, sterilization, and proper storage of instruments post-procedure.
• Document procedures and maintain instrument counts and usage records.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support efficient OR turnover and safety.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
