Job summary

Qualifications

• Current or compact state RN license (Iowa).
• OR experience preferred.
• BLS certification within 6 weeks of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire.
• English reading/writing/speaking required.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs and circulates on cases independently, with minimal direction.
• Prepares for surgical cases efficiently, anticipating needs of patient, surgeon, anesthesia and team.
• Maintains aseptic technique and safe environment for patient and staff.
• Collects and analyzes data to assess patient and nursing diagnoses.
• Communicates effectively with patient, staff, physicians and families.
• Maintains knowledge of equipment setup and function.
• Initiates and directs room cleanup and turnover.
