Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System’s Main Campus in Cleveland is seeking an RN in the General OR to join a dynamic, team-focused environment that handles a wide range of complex procedures. You will work with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and caregivers to ensure safe, efficient patient care from pre-op through post-op stages.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 6 months of hire.
• One year RN experience required or completion of Cleveland Clinic perioperative residency program.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional nursing care in an operative setting to adult and pediatric patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
• Perform scrub functions, such as selecting and handling instruments and supplies.
• Perform circulating functions, such as monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing the overall nursing care of patients before, during and after the procedure.
• Assist the operating physician with surgical tasks, such as hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure and patient positioning.
• Prepare the Operating Room, surgical instruments and surgical equipment for use.
