Job summary

Tennessee Oncology is seeking a Medical Assistant Scheduler to support a multidisciplinary surgical team specializing in surgical oncology. You will assist with in-office oncology procedures, provide pre- and post-operative instructions, and coordinate patient care across multiple departments to ensure timely scheduling and accurate documentation.

Ideal candidates have a Medical Assistant background with EMR experience (eCW) and strong communication skills to navigate complex oncology care

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; BLS within 90 days of hire.
• Graduate of Medical Assistant training program or 6 months in healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures.
• Certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with oncology-related procedures in-office.
• Provide pre- and post-operative instructions for oncology patients.
• Coordinate hospital admissions, discharges, and follow-ups with surgeons/NPs.
• Coordinate with infusion centers, radiation oncology, and pathology for treatment plans.
