Job summary

Duke Raleigh Hospital, a campus of Duke University Health System, seeks a Registered Nurse to provide professional care on the 32-bed Stepdown unit. You will plan, implement, and document nursing care per physician orders and policies, while supporting a diverse patient population including head & neck, cardiothoracic, breast, GI, GYN, urology, vascular and plastics.

This role requires NC RN licensure and a BSN when applicable, with 1-2 years of hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited BSN program.
• Must have current RN licensure in North Carolina; BLS required.
• 1–2 years of nursing experience in a hospital or ambulatory setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently plan and provide professional nursing care per physician orders and policies.
• Use nursing judgment to tailor care based on patient assessment.
• Delegate tasks and supervise licensed and unlicensed staff.
• Assist and lead a team of nurses on the unit as assigned.
• Monitor equipment, environment and resources for safety and quality.
• Engage in professional development and patient/family education.
