Job summary

Duke University Health System—Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Neuro Stepdown Unit (NeuroScience Progressive Care). Positions include rotating shifts in a two-unit tower with high-acuity patients.

The RN provides and coordinates expert nursing care, adheres to the DUHS practice model, pursues professional development, and supports patient- and family-centered care in a Magnet-designated system.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or higher), Associate's Degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program.
• All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date

Responsibilities

• Provide and supervise direct and indirect total nursing care to patients.
• Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) to achieve department goals.
• Participate in clinical ladder, education, committees or research as assigned.
