Job summary

UNC Health Care in Chapel Hill, NC, is hiring a Clinical Support Tech I (Nursing Assistant I + Clerical) for the Surgical Observation Unit. This on-site, 36-hour-per-week role operates on 12-hour rotating shifts (7am-7:30pm and 7pm-7:30am) with weekend and holiday rotation, supporting patient care and unit operations.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a North Carolina Nursing Assistant I certification, and BLS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Nursing Assistant I certification with North Carolina DHHS listing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, as well as procurement of equipment and supplies.
• Critically reviews patient care documentation and reports significant changes to a nurse or physician.
• Performs clerical tasks: organize workload, greet visitors, review orders for clarity, transcribe orders, and maintain medical records; conduct QA audits and inventory.
